We love gathering together to worship God in spirit and in truth. At the heart of our meetings is the conviction that God breathes life into his people through his word.

At SPBC, our goal in music and singing is to join our voices as a congregation in worship of our holy God. Singing is an important way that the church responds to God in corporate worship, and in our services we often sing as an immediate response to the reading or preaching of God's Word. We believe that worship through song should not only be a personal encounter, but also a corporate one. When we sing together, we encourage and build up Christ’s body, our brothers and sisters in our local church. So while we enlist singers and instrumentalists up front to help lead the music, it is our desire that the congregation be the primary "instrument.”

We also believe that the songs we sing together should give us a rich vocabulary for life and worship before God. So on most Sundays we will sing both old hymns and modern songs, always seeking to sing lyrics that are theologically robust, based in Scripture, and which point us to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
